Capcom made an announcement confirming the rumored remake of Resident Evil 3 along with a multiplayer game titled Resident Evil: Resistance. The news hit from Sony’s State of Play, which featured plenty of information on a variety of games. The new remake, along with the online portion in the undead franchise, will come out on April 3, 2020.
Resident Evil 2 got rebuilt from the ground up to be similar, yet different from the original. The announcement came last year at E3. Since the success of the remake got fans talking about the possibility of other entries to get the same treatment. The rumor from Twitter user EvilVR stated that RE3 would be the final game of the series to come out on the current generation. It sounds like they were right, good job!
Resident Evil: Resistance, formerly Project Resistance, will be a four vs. one multiplayer component. The initial trailer of the online spinoff appeared as a standalone, but now it will be an additional mode to the remake. RE2 had nothing like Resistance, but it did have extra content that was not in the 98′ release.
Resident Evil 3 and Resistance will launch on April 3, 2020, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Check out the trailer below:
