A paid service is coming to Nintendo’s mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. It was reported by NintendoLife when a post on ResetEra from user ZeoVGM put out a screenshot of the news that popped up on their screen.
Similar to Mario Kart Tour, players will receive special in-game goods along with other treatments from Pocket Camp Club. Animal Crossers will get two options when paying for the subscription. The first lets one villager be your “camp caretaker,” while the other grants you loot boxes in the form of fortune cookies and the ability to store items in a warehouse.
Due to the monetization practices of Animal Crossing, it has stirred up the player base, causing jokes, memes, and discussion about what’s to come to this mobile experience. Gamers have come onto one Reddit thread to poke fun at the current controversy of the title’s way to get more money.
The ACPC Club service will begin on 11/20 at 10:00pm PT! Our launch video will introduce you to the two plans on offer. One lets you pick an animal to follow you around and help out, and the other gives you access to storage warehouses…and a monthly supply of fortune cookies! pic.twitter.com/8EgFuT1QP2
