Ubisoft is one of today’s biggest gaming companies known for a number great IPs from Watch Dogs to Assassin’s Creed and even Splinter Cell. Most of the titles released by Ubisoft are received with great praise and it doesn’t look like there is any lack of funding for practically any title they decide to work on.
However, it appears that even Ubisoft have to occasionally pull the plug on big projects… Recently, on twitter (via some now-deleted tweets) Ubisoft graphics programmer, Louis de Carufel (who has previously worked on a number of great Ubisoft games) claimed that a project he had been working on for over 3 years with a team of over 200 people had been canceled.
There is some good news! Louis also confirmed in his string of tweets that all 200+ staff members will simply be reassigned to other projects within Ubisoft. He also confirmed that there are over 15 projects in the works at the moment!.. So, lots to look forward to!
