Ubisoft showed off the first Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay trailer during yesterday’s (May 7) Inside Xbox event, which featured the Xbox Series X in action. Gamers around the world were disappointed as it was a highlight reel with hard cuts rather than an actual demo. Now the company has addressed that disappointment.
Creative director Ashraf Ismail tried to temper expectations before the trailer went live worldwide, but that did not stop the negative reaction towards the video. He tweeted out to validate fan feelings but to let everyone know that more will be shown in the coming months.
You rightfully expected to see more today. We have a long marketing campaign ahead of us, you will see in-depth gameplay and get a lot more info about the game.
Thank you for your excitement and passion! Be patient with us and be kind. It will be worth it!🙂

As of writing, the gameplay trailer has 20,000 likes and 33,000 dislikes on the Ubisoft North America YouTube channel with over 700,000 views. Comparatively, the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla world premiere trailer has nearly 2 million views with over 290,000 views and 11,000 dislikes.
Some channels have changed the name of the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay trailer. IGN labels it as the “Official Game Engine Trailer” while GameSpot has it referred to as the “FULL First Reveal Presentation.”
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches this holiday season for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
