The International is the finale of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit. It is one of the biggest events on the esports calendar. Just a few months removed from TI9 Valve have announced the dates for TI10 in 2020. Giving fans enough time to prepare and attempt to get tickets to the biggest event on the Dota 2 calendar.

The International 2020 will go on from August 18th to August 23rd. The event will be held in Sweden, the first time Europe has hosted the event since TI1 in 2011. With Europe arguably one of the best regions at Dota 2 it makes sense to have the biggest event in Dota come back to Europe after so long away from the region. This is evidence with Europe’s powerhouse team OG winning back to back TI titles and becoming the first team in Dota history to defend their TI crown.

Valve might be releasing these dates on the back of TI9’s success. The most recent TI broke the records for biggest prize pool a record they previously held until the Fortnite World Cup this year. With Valve responding so quickly to Fortnite taking this honour it’s clear Valve want to keep a hold on this honour. The other record that was broke at TI9 was the most-watched Dota 2 event on Twitch despite the time zone.

TI9 had late scheduling issues last year that frustrated fans that wanted to go to the event. This is another reason as to why Valve has released this information only a few months after the last TI. Giving fans plenty of time to schedule time off and go to the event and get to experience the magic of The International.
