With any open-world project, gamers want to know about the size of the world they will invest many hours in, especially for the followup to CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3. Recently an artbook titled The World of Cyberpunk 2077 Deluxe Edition went up on Amazon, lending a peek at the layout and scale of Night City, the fictional metropolis in California where the game will take place.

The Polish developer did describe the upcoming sci-fi RPG as a similar size to Geralt’s final adventure back in 2015. However, it will be denser and busier, much like any major city in the real world. The upcoming title, based on the table-top game Cyberpunk 2020, will consist of six unique districts. The corporate centered City Center, an Asian community within Watson, a wealthy touristy part of town called Westbrook, Heywood is a gang-ridden suburb, which leads to the more dangerous area than Heywood comes from Pacifica, and the industrial side of Night City comes from Santo Domingo.

They’re roughly similar [in size],” Marthe Jonkers, senior concept artist at CD Projekt Red, told VG247 about the game’s world. “But really different in style, so you’ll always recognize where you are in the game. For instance, in The Witcher, you had these different areas, like Skellige was really Scandinavia, and we wanted to do the same thing here because the city would get boring very quickly if you only had the same sort of buildings.

The deluxe collector’s item will contain the map, a slipcase of graffiti, temporary tattoos, a poster of Keanu Reeves’ character Johnny Silverhands, four vehicle postcards, and stickers. The artbook is being created by Marcin Batldya from the Dark Horse Comics and Graphic Novels. It will cost $99.99 and be released shortly after the game on April 21, 2020. Cyberpunk 2077 will launch next year on April 16 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, and PC.

I am a student in California trying to get a degree in journalism. I have aimed to get myself into the world of video game journalism, so I have focused on achieving that with my education and my writing.I have been a lifelong gamer who loves action-adventure titles, shooters, RPGs, and anything with explosions and excitement.Outside of gaming, I am a huge metalhead and movie fanatic. Give me brutal music along with some good comedies, action flicks, and of course, some grade-A horror.
