Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has been around for a little over two months now. And, it’s fair to say that EA hadn’t quite planned for it to surpass their expectations when it came to sales. In fact, EA slapped the target of six to eight million units by the end of the fiscal year. But, with two months shy of the last stretch – Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has indeed already soared clear of the goal. Now, EA expects sales to reach ten million before the end of March.
So, what does this mean for EA? Will this be an eye-opener for the publisher? Can we expect a reel of future single player releases that will hopefully follow up in the spotlight of Star Wars Jedi? Well, that’s a question we’ll likely be asking ourselves for quite some time. Or, at least until EA reveal their next big project. But if there’s anything we can all agree on, it’s that EA is most definitely known for being money hungry. And where the money goes – EA will always follow and milk it for all it’s worth.
It’s taken a fair few years for EA to navigate towards standalone adventures and steer clear of live elements and microtransaction malarkey. However, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order seems to be the title that’s putting them in the right direction. And, because of the success of the launch, it’s very likely that EA will follow up with another chapter in the single-player sphere, too. But, again, this is unconfirmed and just something to ponder over.
