Square Enix Partners with Blacknut To Stream Premium Mobile Games

Square Enix has teamed up with a French company, Blacknut, to release a series of new mobile games through their online streaming service.

Many of these games are among Square’s most successful mobile titles such as Lara Croft GO, Hitman GO, Deus Ex GO and Hitman Sniper. The games will be available on any of the supported devices that Blacknut provides such as Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, PC, Mac, and Linux. The following games are expected to be released within the next few months. No official release date has been established yet.

The founding of Blacknut began back in January 2016 by Olivier Avaro. He founded this online streaming service and developed a headquarters in Rennes, France. They now have offices in Paris, San Francisco and have a total of over 80 games available to this day.

As part of its plan to initiate partnerships across the world, its newest deal with Square Enix has now given them access to critically acclaimed games to which they are very excited about. Olivier Avaro says, “It’s great to see the growing momentum in cloud gaming as companies like Square Enix begin to support these new distribution initiatives”. Square Enix Montréal Studio Head, Patrick Naud, speaks up about Square’s similar excitement to the deal. He says, “Square Enix absolutely supports innovative and accessible ways to offer games to a wider audience and we are excited to include our premium games to the Blacknut catalog”.

Square Enix has now offered Blacknut a massive collection of games, reaching over 120 premium titles. One of Blacknut’s most convenient features is the ability to access and play these games instantly, without ever having to download them. Unlimited access is available at a monthly subscription of 14.99EUR. As of now, Blacknut is only accessible in the UK, France, and Germany. Fortunately, they are currently working on plans to expand across Europe and North America soon.

Hi there, My name's Josh and I am a student studying Games Journalism & PR at Staffordshire University. My username is BoastAG which stands for Boast About Games, which is pretty self explanatory. Narrative games and RPG's are among my most favorite games to play. Particularly the Kingdom Hearts series and choice-based games made by Telltale. Games that tug the heartstrings are clearly my weakness. I'm a member of a dance society named LunaGaze and an experienced ShadowRun player (tabletop). Feel free to follow me on Twitter ;)
