Sony is trying to get it’s hands on Remedy Entertainment?!

As we all know Sony stole the spotlight so to speak in the single-player, story driven exclusives last year… With games like God of War and Spider-Man fans are itching to see what Sony has up their sleeves next. Well, rumor has it that Sony are looking to acquire Remedy Entertainment as they move forward with their single player experience.

Remedy Entertainment has a long-standing record of creating high quality single-player games driven by a heart felt story, a perfect candidate for Sony’s future projects. This rumor comes from Push Square, as they stated that Jim Ryan of PlayStation noted that Sony might be adding more talented developers to their arsenal and Remedy seems like a suitable choice.

Recently the President of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, toured Remedy Entertainment Studios and there are also rumors from different sources that Sony might be preparing a bid in an attempt to take over the studio.

Also worth noting is that Remedy recently acquired the Alan Wake IP rights, which would be strange if they were planning on following along with Sony.  Even while working with Microsoft on Quantum Break they seemed to favor their independence so we’ll just have to see how this all plays out.
