Smite season 7 is going live later today. At 12 pm UTC Hi-Rez servers will go down as patch 7.1 gets implemented in Smite. TitanForge have been teasing and showcasing season 7 over the past few weeks. Now players can finally play season 7 and get to experience all the changes.
Season 7 will bring changes to two game modes in Smite. The changes to conquest will hopefully stop the invade meta of season 6, with changes to buff spawn timers, fewer routes to easily invade and the introduction of the jungle shrine. The invade meta plagued Smite in the second half of season 6 and plenty of fans and players weren’t fans of this. The other big change to the conquest map is on the duo side. New XP camps and purple buff going back to an attack speed buff have been brought in to try and keep supports in lane with their ADC.
Conquest isn’t the only map getting an update. Joust is getting a massive overhaul. With more XP camps and plenty more minor objectives to contest it looks like Joust will be more than just a 3v3 laning battle. With more jungle and more paths either side of the Joust lane, there are plenty more chances to collapse on the enemy team. These changes could also promote more jungling in Joust and allow one teammate peel off and get some solo XP.
These aren’t the only changes in season 7. With buffs and nerfs to items and gods alike, we could be in for a meta shakeup in season 7. Even some reworks and new items will be introduced in patch 7.1
