Rockstar Games hesitant to make GTA 6 today

As we know, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be here soon by the end of the week. Though there is another franchise from Rockstar Games that has fans speculating on when it will come back. Of course, its Grand Theft Auto and Rockstar’s co-founder Dan Houser recently opened up on the release of a sixth entry:

“It’s really unclear what we would even do with it, let alone how upset people would get with whatever we did,” said Houser. “Both intense liberal progression and intense conservatism are both very militant, and very angry.”

Current Trends

Yet, with Red Dead Redemption 2 we might see stereotypes play out that were relevant at the time. However, with everything going on with crimes of sexual assault and mishap in the White House it may not be a good time to open up and start parodying anything of that sort.

Changing Times

“It is scary but it’s also strange, and yet both of them seem occasionally to veer towards the absurd. It’s hard to satirise for those reasons. Some of the stuff you see is straightforwardly beyond satire. It would be out of date within two minutes, everything is changing so fast.”

Rockstar Games being Rockstar Games

Nevertheless, Rockstar Games has been known for being troublemakers in the past with previous entries of the GTA series. Especially with San Andreas released in 2004 with its “Hot Coffee” discovery. Additionally, the recent reports of Rockstar having their staff working 100 plus work weeks for Red Dead Redemption 2 is not putting them in a positive light. While it wasn’t forced upon it was encouraged as developing video games is a long and stressful process.

Final Thoughts

Therefore, seeing another entry in the Grand Theft Auto series will take some time and would have to be careful this time around. Honestly, seeing Rockstar staying true to themselves and the series would have to be interesting in the future. Comment below on what you think if Grand Theft Auto VI came out today.
