The way the refund system works in Fortnite is people are given 3-lifetime tokens, the only problem with this is if you have used all your refunds and buy something accidentally then you are out of luck. Which is why this system has needed a change now for a while.
Well, it seems that in Fortnite season 9 we will see a change coming to how the refund system will work, this information has come from Epic employee DanDaDaDanDan who stated in a Reddit post that the refund system will be changing in Fortnite season 9.
The way it will work in season 9 is when you buy something you have 5 minutes to refund the item, as long as you don’t enter a match. This way will not use a refund token either, so if you do purchase something accidentally, you have a 5-minute window to get your V-Bucks back. Down below is the Reddit post:
Friendly reminder Epic: we are still waiting for a way to confirm our purchases like in the Japanese version of Fortnite. Every time there’s a skin with selectable styles in the shop you earn money from the people who purchase it by accident. from r/FortNiteBR
