Cross-play could be coming to Rainbow Six: Siege… although nothing is planned the developer has confirmed “We’re Thinking About It”
Recently, at the Six Invitational in Montreal, Rainbow Six: Siege Executive Producer Xavier Marquis told Stevivor he was considering console cross-play in Rainbow Six: Siege.
Marquis was very careful to mention that although he is “thinking about it” that does in no way mean that it is guaranteed and that the feature is “not actually being worked on at this point”… He then went on to say, “I’m really happy because I’m now seeing signs from consoles makers to accept it, and for it to be okay to do cross-play.”
Personally, I love the idea of cross-play between devices and can only see the number of ‘cross-play enabled” games increasing in the new future. At the moment, only two games have true cross-play including all major devices, these being Fortnite and Rocket League. Of course, there are a number of other games that allow cross play between limited devices for example PC and PS4 or Xbox One and PC but we want to see full cross-play!
Rainbow Six: Siege is currently available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Let us know in the comments below, what do you think of cross-play? Would you like to see it come to more games and are there any games that shouldn’t consider it?
