In a recent interview with Dualshockers, the CEO of Quantic Dream David Cage has revealed that all releases going forward as of now will no longer be exclusive to only one platform.
There, of course, is still exclusivity on specific titles, such as the main three releases by Quantic Dream- Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human. These titles will only be available on Windows on the Epic Games Store- Heavy Rain and Beyond are already available and ready for purchase right now, but Detroit is coming later this year.
David Cage wanted to break away from Sony (though on remarkably good terms) and become a ‘boutique publisher‘ and is very enthusiastic about going forward, especially with next-gen consoles coming next year.
“Quantic Dream is not exclusive to any platform anymore. So yes, unless there are some specific exclusivity deals on a title-by-title basis, all our games will be released on all platforms at launch.”
Is Quantic Dream taking too much of a risk here by becoming a ‘boutique publisher‘ or is the payoff worth it? We will see when their next title comes available across all platforms. Let us know what you think in the comments down below!
