PS4 Sells Over 91 Million Systems Worldwide

It’s no surprise that Sony has enjoyed a great deal of success in the current generation of consoles.

With incredible exclusives like Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, and, more recently, Insomniac’s Spider-Man, it makes sense that the PS4 has only continued to have success over five years after its initial release. Sony recently announced that, after another successful holiday season (bolstered by Spider-Man’s US Black Friday slim console bundle), the PlayStation 4 has sold over 91.6 million systems globally.

Clearly, the PlayStation 4 has had an excellent run up to this point. It will be interesting to see how Sony’s console fares in 2019, especially with rumors swirling of a potential PS5 reveal coming at some point in the future. Of course, with intriguing games like Ghosts of Tsushima, Days Gone, and Last of Us Part II (among many, many others) all still coming in the future, it’s hard to believe the PS4’s incredible pace is going to fall off anytime soon.

With all that said, what are all your thoughts on the PS4 up to this point? What about for the future? Let us know in the comments below!

Hello there! The name's Ryan, and I graduated from Oregon State University in June 2018 with a major in Political Science and a minor in US History. Throughout my life I’ve been a huge fan of sports, movies, tv shows, and, above all else, video games. My favorite games of all time are the original Mass Effect Trilogy, and, in more recent years, I’ve loved God of War, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, Doom, and the Witcher 3.

Have your say!
