Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Coming This Year for Nintendo Switch

S+S

Finally! Nintendo has finally revealed its upcoming Pokemon games for Nintendo Switch at Pokémon Direct.

The two games are set in a new region named Galar and are called Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. It has been confirmed that the games will be released in “late 2019.”

Galar comes across as very British yet somehow looks like a beautiful place to visit. In this new continent Nintendo revealed the three new 8th generation starter Pokémon shown below.

Interestingly, both Sword and Shield are directed by Shigeru Ohmori. Shigeru previously directed Sun and Moon and has worked on the series for over 16 years.

Nintendo first announced it was working on new Pokémon games at E3 2017. Not much information was given at E3 however, following Sword and Shield’s trailer shown below it seems that there may be more Pokémon franchises also in the works… I should add that unfortunately no more details were confirmed in regards to this.

Let us know what you think of the announcement below… Personally I am really looking forward to it! Be sure to check out some more screenshots from the game below and do share this information with your friends!
