Pokemon Go has had super activity as of late due to player interactions with these high-value trades that are happening because of the current discounts. These player interactions are still new to players but, Niantic may have some more things planned for it.
The hot rumor going around seems to be that Pokemon Go might be adding a PvP battle by the end of 2018. These reports come after an interview with Anne Beuttenmuller, Niantic’s European Head of Marketing.
Here’s a look at a translation of her response…
“Now we are working on PvP mode, which will soon appear [in the game]. We are still working on improving the feature which has just made its debut – I’m talking about friend system and its functions, such as the ability to trade Pokemon. We’ve just introduced an improvement so you can add a note [nickname I guess?] to your friend. The point is that you can have many people on your friend list and don’t remember who is who. So you can add now a comment [nickname] to that person. You can also sort your friend list. We are constantly improving every aspect of this game and the next thing that we want to add at the end of this year is the PvP mode.”
If the rumor happens to be true then we might see Pokemon go get even more traffic. Niantic has been super quiet but they usually are until right before something releases. Pokemon Go possibly having a combat system changes everything and will bring fans back that have left.
