Pokémon Go’s Community Day is almost here. Each Community Day allows for players of the augmented reality game to catch a featured pokemon with a specific move. In addition, the event has other perks that otherwise are unavailable.
This month’s featured Pokémon is Chimchar, the Fire Chimp. Chimchar was first introduced in Diamond and Pearl. It made its debut alongside Piplup and Turtwig as a part of Generation IV. The event begins Nov. 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. In that time frame, Chimchar will spawn more frequently. This will give the opportunity to catch a shiny version of the Gen IV starter before the event ends.
For players that evolve Chimchar into Monferno and then into Infernape by 4 p.m., their Infernape will learn a special move. Typically Community Days feature a special move alongside the Pokémon, however, this month’s move is still yet to be revealed.
Other perks that will be available during the event include triple the XP earned for catching pokemon and increased lure times. Lures typically attract pokemon for 30 minutes, but the event will extend them for three hours. For more about Pokémon Go’s Community Day events, click here.
