Sony Interactive Entertainment is going to have a successful 2020 with exclusive releases and the PlayStation 5 launch during the holidays. Things are kicking off for the company as the lineup of games has been unveiled for Taipei Game Show. High profile exclusives and niche titles populate the presentation at one of Asia’s largest gaming expos.
Some of the games will get a video presentation, like a trailer, while others will open up for a demo to let players try things out. Everything that gets put out onto the show in either a “trial experience” or “video playback” includes 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Fairy Tale, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Granblue Fantasy Versus, Gleamlight, Gungrave G.O.R.E., Marvel’s Avengers, Marvel’s Iron Man VR, NBA 2K20, Nioh 2, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, Persona 5 Royal, Resident Evil: Resistance, Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris, Tales of Aris, The Last of Us Part II, Trials of Mana, Way of the Samurai Gaiden Katanakami, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Yo-Kai Watch 4++, and Ys IX.
The bigger releases like The Last of Us Part II, Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, and Yakuza will get presented as videos. It is unclear which of these will have something new to show or recycle an old trailer. Naughty Dog’s sequel to its apocalyptic drama is coming May 29, CD Projekt Red’s ambitious sci-fi RPG releases a month before, on April 16, Yakuza comes out in Japan on Jan. 16 with a worldwide release later this year and Elden Ring is rumored to release this summer. As these games are about to launch into the wild, we should keep our expectations low, except for FromSoftware’s upcoming project that could hold something new for the world to see.
Attendees at the show will get their hands on some hefty releases like the new Resident Evil multiplayer mode that will accompany the remake of RE 3, Marvel’s Iron Man VR, and Marvel’s Avengers are just some of the many options gamers will have.
The Taipei Game Show 2020 starts on Feb. 6 and ends on Feb. 9. It will be held at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, Taiwan.
