The PlayStation 5 has been predicted to sell 6 million units by March 2021, according to Japanese analyst Hideki Yasuda.
The PlayStation 5 is going to release this year during the holiday season, and many are wondering how this upcoming generation’s console wars will play out. As we all know, PlayStation and Xbox have always been battling to be the best.
A Gaming Bolt article states that Yasuda, an analyst of Osaka firm Ace Research Institute, predicts that Sony will sell over 6 million PS5 units by the end of March 2021.
To put this into perspective, the PS4 sold around 4.2 million units in its launch year, 2013, and 14.4 million units in 2014, via Statista.
If Yasuda’s prediction is accurate, this means that the PS5 will sell in about six months what took PS4 over two years. Quite the over-achiever.
