No DLC for The Last of Us Part 2
In an interview with Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller, director and co-writer Neil Druckmann said there are “no plans” to work on DLC for The Last of Us Part 2.
Factions, the online PvP mode that was in the first game, was not delivered in the newly released sequel. Naughty Dog said in a previous statement that it would arrive someday.
“You will eventually experience the fruits of our team’s online ambition,” Naughty Dog said at the time, “but not as part of The Last of Us 2. When and where it will be realized is still to be determined. But rest assured, we are as big a fan of Factions as the rest of our community and are excited to share more when it’s ready.”
When asked in the Kinda Funny interview, Druckmann did not give any insight into the development.
“I remember when we used to make multiplayer games,” he said, followed by miming himself zipping his mouth.
While the multiplayer is in development, Naughty Dog could pass on The Last of Us Part 2 DLC to work on something else. In an interview with GQ, Druckmann said the studio would either make another Last of Us game or a brand new IP.
