Nintendo President Says They Won’t Be Announcing a New Switch at E3 2019

As the rumors spread about a possible new lower-priced Switch set to drop this fall, fans are patiently waiting to see if the stories are validated. Well during a recent financial results briefing Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa stated that there are no current plans to announce any new hardware in the upcoming E3 2019.

As stated by Reuters’ tech reporter Sam Nussey,  Nintendo has a plan of surpassing their past fiscal year of 16.95 million Switches sold by over a million, and expect to sell around 18 million consoles by March 2020. And they plan to do the same with software by again expecting to sell 125 million copies of Switch games as compared to the last fiscal year where they sold 118.55 million.

As far as any specific hardware that was being developed? Furukawa did not have much to say regarding that, but he did mention that they are always working towards new hardware internally.
