Come February 13th Nintendo will release their next batch of NES Games. Nintendo revealed them on a new trailer for their Online Service. The new games include Super Mario Bros 2 and Kirby’s Adventure.
On top of that, Japanese owners of the subscription will be treated to an additional game titled Tsuppari Ōzumō which is a sumo wrestling title released on the Famicom. Obviously, it makes sense to release region friendly titles over there that were more prominent on the Famicom. Those who don’t know the Famicom is the Japanese NES released in 1983. Two years before the release of the NES in the States.
While there is still plenty to complain about the Online service there are hints that things might turn around. With rumors of new staff coming to fix it as well as SNES games coming to the streaming service. In the meantime, we have to put up with a handful of classic games to enjoy. Though I wonder if Super Mario Bros 2 in Japan will be released as Doki Doki Panic or Super Mario USA? Comment below on what you think of the new games.
