Ninja Responds To Criticism About Refusing To Stream With Women
Last Week Fortnite Streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins told Polygon why he doesn’t choose to stream with Women, However, after the article released Tyler got a lot of backlash for it by other Twitch personalities and on Social Media.
Tyler took to Twitter today to release a statement on the matter, he had this to say:
“I wanted to take a moment to address the discussion around the article that came out over the weekend, While I understand some people have implied my views mean I have something against playing with women, I want to make clear the issue I’m addressing is online harassment, and my attempt to minimize it from our life.”
Basically what he is saying from this is he wants to protect his relationship with Jessica, as he doesn’t want rumors floating around which could jeopardise his relationship with Jessica in any way. As Gossip can run wild on Twitch and it could put a strain on a marriage.
“It is something that affects all streamers, especially ones that make their relationships public,” he continued. “I wanted to bring attention to this issue and my comments should not be characterized as anything beyond that.”
I personally believe the reason why many people where annoyed with Tyler not wanting to stream with women is because of the influence that he has in the Twitch community and for him to say no to streaming with women streamers is basically like he is excluding them as if they shouldn’t be a part of Twitch. But as we can see from his statement this is clearly not the case.
He ended the statement by saying:
“I look forward to the opportunity to meet and play with all kinds of Fortnite players in future tournaments and events.”
