New comic book app is coming to the Nintendo Switch
Recently it’s been announced that Nintendo will add it’s first non video game app to its eshop called Inkypen. Inkypen is a comic book app which allows you to view comics from a variety of sorts directly on your Nintendo Switch. Available at $8 a month Inkypen has a catalog of over 10,000 comics ranging from manga, graphic novels, and European comics as well.
Inkypen has comics from publishers such as IDW, Dynamite, Valiant, les Humanoïdes Associés, and Andrews McMeel to name a few.
CEO of Inkypen Ronan Huggard comments on having Inkypen available to users which he considers to be an “all-you-can-read model to the international community.”
“I could never afford to truly explore comics growing up, or even at university,” Huggar said. “Not because I didn’t have enough money, but because they were just too expensive for a student to justify buying. InkyPen solves this.”
Seeing actions like this shows an interesting direction Nintendo is going as well as a sense of growth from the company. Inkypen from a glance seems to add a convenience to comic viewing as it was one of the reasons it was created as the team behind Inkypen wanted to provide a service which hadn’t existed prior.
