Mortal Kombat 11’s Cover Art is Golden, Literally.

Mortal Kombat 11’s official reveal event might be a week away still, but NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon has satisfied fan’s hunger for information. On Boon’s twitter he revealed the cover art for Mortal Kombat 11 and surprise, it has Scorpion front and center.

Behind him is the dragon logo that is so iconic to the Mortal Kombat franchise. The background for both Scorpion and the logo though is bright golden yellow, which matches perfectly with Scorpion’s attire.

Scorpion himself is wearing what looks like a new outfit again with a sword on his side and red by his legs. The rest of his outfit is what you’d expect of Scorpion though, yellow, which fits in perfectly with the golden background. Scorpion was also shown in the trailer released at The Game Awards wearing an older outfit, which was quite nostalgic to me.

The tweet made by Boon is attached below so you can check out the design yourself. It’s quite simplistic, as was Mortal Kombat X’s cover, but also glorious. Something about the giant dragon logo, even obscured, hits home for me. Nostalgia again probably.
