Minecraft on Apple TV will no longer receive service

Recently, Mircosoft released a statement citing that Minecraft on the Apple TV platform will longer receive service or updates. Accordingly, The Verge revealed this information today as well. In addition, Mircosoft will provide a full refund to anyone who purchased the Apple TV version of the game in the past 90 days.

However, the refunds aren’t mandatory as anyone who wants to play Minecraft on the Apple TV can still do so. In fact, Mircosoft has stated in their message shown above that they want to shift their focus of the game on other platforms that players are enjoying Minecraft. Of course, this makes sense in terms of business. Though I’m sure Apple TV fans will miss the fun of updates and the community.
