Man of Medan Overview of the Shared Story Mode

Man of Medan

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan is getting a co-op Shared Story mode, which might sound a bit confusing at first, more so if you have played the predecessor of this title Until Dawn. Bandai Namco has showcased a new gameplay video that presents a much-needed overview of what this Shared Story mode entails.

The Shared Story mode is a two-player, co-op feature, online multiplayer mode, which two players are sharing the story simultaneously. Each friend chooses a different character out of the five friends featured in this title, and in scenes, new choices and consequences come available- a whole new perspective comes into the light.

As it’s co-op, you have a few options of what you can do, e.g., you can both work together and share the burden, or you could role-play the characters you have chosen and make decisions based on them, not yourself- by doing this it might lead to some exciting developments or something completely new altogether.

Developed by Supermassive Games, these developers are well known for their interactive horror games, such as Until Dawn or the VR game The Inpatient. The Dark Pictures of Anthology is a series where every playable character can either live or die, and this changes the story based on what consequences happen, no-one is safe. Furthermore, this will yield various endings and boundless replayability.

The story behind Man of Medan is that five friends set forth on a holiday diving trip with a rumoured World War II wreck to discover. As this holiday unfolds and a vicious storm creeps in, their trip turns for the worst as terror slowly starts to envelop them all. Do you reckon you can get all of the characters to survive this impending horror or will you let some fall prey to this doom? Every choice is down to you.

The Dark Pictures Anthology – Man of Medan releases on the 30th of August on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Hey, my name is Mark, I am 29, video game enthusiast! My earliest memory was playing Worms on the Amiga against my Godmother, yes the Amiga, massive box type thing, needed eighty-five thousand floppy disks to play one game, maybe a slight exaggeration, those were the days! I love RPG's, and The Legend of Zelda series. Dogs are pretty awesome.

Have your say!
