This package looks like a very decent package that can be run with some fast defenders but also a package you can get burned on.

New Defensive Coverage Logic

A few changes are coming to the AI logic of popular zone coverages in Madden 19. In last year’s game, any player with 91 zone coverage or above would automatically break on passes before the quarterback released the ball.

Madden 19 has changed that logic so only defenders with 99 zone coverage break on the ball everytime before a QB releases it. Players with 90-99 zone coverage have a chance of breaking on passes early with the likelihood of that happening scaling up as the player’s zone coverage rating gets higher.

Tampa 2 Defenses
The primary of focus with Cover 2 was adding new rules and logic for the Middle Read and Vertical Hook defenders.  The Middle Read player will now do a much better job of getting to the deep middle of the field to defend against pass routes that cross that area.

Cover 3 Defenses
Cover 3 will defend against trips and bunch formations much better than before. In those situations plays like Cover 3 Match, Cover 3 Sky, and Cover 3 Buzz plays will function more like the Cover 3 Mable.

Cover 4 Defenses
There are 2 new cover 4 defenses in Madden 19 (Cover 4 Quarters and Cover 4 Palms).

Against a formation where a slot receiver is present, and if the slot receiver runs a quick out, the defense in Cover 4 Quarters will handle this route with the “Quarter Flat” player.  In the same scenario with Cover 4 Palms, the defense will handle this route with the cornerback who’s playing “Outside Quarter.” In a sense, the coverage plays like a Cover 2.

Madden 19 Franchise Mode

Remember the days of saving up 30k+ XP so you could increase your new rookie wide receiver’s speed 1 point from 95 to 96 instead of spending that XP on things like route running, catching and awareness? That has all come to an end.

EA Sports has replaced the old XP progression system with a new system where you don’t get to choose which attribute gets increased in Madden 19.  Instead, you can apply your skill points into one of 4 player archetypes. The players that fit that skill position archetype then get a +1 increase in overall rating.

A few other notable changes include:

Slow, Normal, Quick, and Superstar development has been changed to Normal, Quick, Star and Superstar.
You can no longer purchase player traits like Clutch
Overhauled regression system so players don’t automatically lose the same ratings after a certain age
There are 8 offensive schemes and 6 defensive schemes you can select inside your franchise. Good GMs will try to pick players with archetypes that fit well within these schemes.

Offensive Schemes: Spread, West Coast Zone Run, West Coast Power Run, Vertical Zone Run, Vertical Power Run, Multiple Power Run, Multiple Zone Run, Run and Shoot
Defensive Schemes: Base 4-3, Multiple 4-3, Base 3-4, Multiple 3-4, Tampa 2, 46
You will be able to see a player’s scheme fits while scouting them so you will have a better sense of who to draft.

Madden 19 Player Archetypes For Each Position

QB: Strong Arm, Scrambler, West Coast, Field General
HB: Power Back, Elusive Back, Receiving Back
FB: Blocking, Utility
WR: Deep Threat, Possession, Red Zone Threat, Slot Receiver
TE: Vertical Threat, Possession, Blocking
OL: Agile, Power, Pass Protector
DL: Run Stopper, Speed Rusher, Power Rusher
MLB: Field General, Pass Coverage, Run Stopper
OLB: Pass Coverage, Run Stopper, Speed Rusher, Power Rusher
CB: Man-to-Man, Zone Coverage, Slot Corner
S: Zone Coverage, Run Support, Hybrid
K/P: Accurate, Power

Madden 19 looks like the most exclusive and most complete title up to date, From what i have played they have polished some of the bad spots from madden 18 and quite possibly with a few fixes could be releasing the best game  of the franchise. Madden 19 is set to release on Xbox One, Playstation 4, & Microsoft Windows on August 10,2018.
