The long-awaited card game from Riot Games is now going to open beta. On January 24th fans of LoL and games like Hearthstone can get their hands on Riots depiction of a strategy card game. The open beta will also be coming with a few new features that weren’t available in earlier access.

After Riot announced a load of new games the one closest to release was always Legends of Runeterra. The card game will be available for all to play on January 24th. Those who got early access to the game prior, however, will be able to play the game a day earlier. Players also able to pre-register before the 20th January will be able to get access a day earlier.

LoR seems to have taken on a lot of feedback from the previous beta. With adjustments to 20 of the cards as they look to balance the game further. This will come along with a friends list and the ability to challenge a friend in-game. The aim here is to allow players to learn together or just have fun against a friend which will be well received upon release of the beta.

That isn’t all though. The competitors amongst you will be happy to know their first ranked season will also be coming to the game alongside the beta. This will work in a similar way to how Riot run ranked in League of Legends and TFT. Fans will have to be careful though as if you have already made progress in previous versions all that progress will get reset for the open beta. Looking to keep things fair for all players early on.
