Konami Announce Anniversary Collection Series

Konami Collection

This year marks ‘Konami’s 50th Anniversary’, to celebrate, a three-game series for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC is being released!

Recently, Konami has announced a new compilation pack series that puts together a great collection of “iconic arcade games and classic console titles” into one package. The bundle is called ‘The Konami Anniversary Collection series’ and is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

There will be 3 games in the series. The first, ‘Konami Anniversary Arcade Classics’, which launches on April 20, as a digital-only title for £14.99 (or $20.00). The package comes with the following games:

  • Haunted Castle
  • A-Jax
  • Nemesis
  • Vulcan Venture
  • Life Force
  • Thunder Cross
  • Scramble
  • TwinBee

Interestingly, as well as the games themselves, the package will include an ebook that contains extras ‘like interviews with developers, sketches, and design documents that have reportedly never been seen by the public before.’

Following on from the arcade classics, the ‘Castlevania Anniversary Collection’ and the ‘Contra Anniversary Collection’ have also been announced, they are due to be released in Summer 2019. Personally I can’t wait for these two in particular, both Castlevania and Contra are great titles.

In regards to what actually comes with the 2 bundles, the Castlevania bundle comes with Castlevania, Castlevania II: Belmont’s Revenge, Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, and Super Castlevania IV, along with four other titles and an ebook to be revealed at a later date.

The Contra package will include Contra, Super Contra, Super C, Contra III: The Alien Wars, and at least four other games to be revealed later, along with… you guessed it! a bonus ebook.

Is this a good move for Konami? I’d say so, but what will Konami come up with going forward without Kojima? Let us know what you think in the comments section and do be sure to check out our YouTube Channel for more gaming news!
