A PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn is on the…horizon. We apologize, but it had to be done. We at Daily Gaming Report arent surprised we had our suspicions. Over at the PlayStation Blog, there was an interview with the head of PlayStation Herman Hulst, who also happens to be the former director of Guerrilla Games. For those of you that aren’t aware, Guerrilla Games are a first-party PlayStation Studio and who developed Horizon Zero Dawn.
“Yes, I can confirm that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC this summer… There will be more information coming from Guerrilla, from the new studio directors [Michiel Van der Leeue, JB van Beek, and Angie Smets] pretty soon,” says Herman.
Herman did clarify that not all PlayStation exclusives will come to PC and that this is more of a test to show PC players they are missing out by not having a PlayStation.
“I think it’s important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they’ve been missing out on.
“And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance. We don’t have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware.”
While Xbox is showing off its Xbox Play Anywhere campaign, it seems that PlayStation is instead showing players that they need a PlayStation console to take full advantage of their library. It looks like we can expect to play Horizon Zero Dawn this summer.
