More information on the Forge maps migration is here. A shorthand version is that the migration progress will start August 12th, the devs will do a “one-time copy of both the game types and maps that you have uploaded to your file share.” Meaning you HAVE to have what Forge creations and game types saved on your file share before this date or they will not get transferred over.
This content Forge content will then work and be added for both versions of the MCC for Xbox One and PC when it is released later this year.
The one time copy will be split over two days, one for each different aspect. For Game types the copy will initiate on August 12th and maps will be August 26th, so make sure whatever you want copying over is in your file share waiting.
Apart from adding files to file share, you will not have to do a thing. Well apart from PC players, as they will have to load the MCC on the Xbox One after the update to make these files available.
