Go Diving In No Man’s Sky Free Update: The Abyss
After No Man’s Sky NEXT Sean Murray and everyone at Hello Games have managed to pull the titles tarnished image out of the backlash and back into the limelight.
Now, No Man’s Sky introduces The Abyss. The Abyss is a new, free update that takes what is already a massive universe (literally) and adds even more exploration to it. Taking you into the depths of endless oceans, the new update introduces a whole new variety of aquatic environments, new creatures, new biomes and much more.
In a blog post on the official PlayStation blog, Sean Murray goes in depth about what we can expect from The Abyss. No Man’s Sky’s oceans just got a lot more populated, with aquatic life occupying the full depth of the oceans. Consequently, there are many more (potentially terrifying) encounters in wait. With increased variety and visual quality, the underwater world of No Man’s Sky has a lot to offer.
Aquatic missions are introduced with a new story ‘The Dreams of the Deep’, a new dark narrative to follow under the waves. Sunken wrecks provide lost cargo, ancient treasures and even rare crashed star ships to restore.
Additionally, a new Exocraft the Nautilon will help you explore the depths and fight off the creatures of the deep. You can even construct marine shelters brining base building into the ocean.
The Abyss update reminds us a lot of Subnautica, which itself was a great game. As a result, we’re pretty excited to go diving in No Man’s Sky.
With so much new content following on only a couple of months since the No Man’s Sky NEXT update, it has never been a better time to dive into this unimaginably expansive game. To read the full patch notes for The Abyss follow the link here.
