Borderlands 3 Give In-Game Masks To Support COVID Relief
Gearbox is doing its part to aid healthcare workers fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. The company responsible for the Borderlands series announced on Twitter Monday a new initiative where players can redeem an in-game cosmetic, the “Antisocial Mask,” in exchange for a donation to DirectRelief.
“So, while we’re developing new DLC, writing jokes that we hope you find funny, and working to create new missions so that you think Borderlands 3 is the best damn video game you’ve ever played, we just ask you to help others as they fight real, honest-to-God battles that have to be won.” The minimum donation for the cosmetic is $5, interested parties can check out Gearbox’s whole post here.
“This campaign and these contributions are coming at a critical time in the pandemic,” Thomas Tighe, president, and CEO of Direct Relief said in a news release. “While states are opening, we continue to see surges in the spread of Coronavirus and there is still a need to provide PPE for frontline healthcare workers. Direct Relief is deeply grateful to Gearbox for its partnership.”
