Gamescom 2019 – Age of Empires news incoming

Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition

Gamescom is upon us tonight, starting with Opening Night Live; however, scheduled beforehand are two events, and one of them is an Inside Xbox, and we have learned that Microsoft is going to be announcing some incoming news and something ‘exciting‘ about Age of Empires.

There are a few things I think it could be – Age of Empires IV is one of them, this was announced back in 2017, and is currently developed by Relic. We don’t know much about this title sadly, apart from the head of Xbox Phil Spencer saying it is making “good progress.”

The second possibility it could be is an Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition which we still do not know the release date, according to the Steam Store page is it still ‘coming soon.’ We do know some information about this title – that it will include four new civilizations to play as and three new campaigns, as well a plethora quality of live improvements, with plenty more things that have yet to be unveiled.

Or of course, it could be something completely different. Stay tuned for 5 pm BST for Inside Xbox news!

Hey, my name is Mark, I am 29, video game enthusiast! My earliest memory was playing Worms on the Amiga against my Godmother, yes the Amiga, massive box type thing, needed eighty-five thousand floppy disks to play one game, maybe a slight exaggeration, those were the days! I love RPG's, and The Legend of Zelda series. Dogs are pretty awesome.

Have your say!
