Fortnite CEO is worth more than the Steam CEO

Recently, it’s been noted on Bloomberg Billionnaires something tragic for Gabe Newell, founder of Steam. Tim Sweeney, founder of Epic Games and soon to be emperor of the gaming world has surpassed Newell in terms of worth.

With last year’s income of $3 billion thanks to Fortnite, Sweeney has earned a net worth of $7.16 billion ranking in at 192 on Bloomberg’s list of Billionaires. Of course, for Gabe this surpasses his $4.2 billion net worth since founding Steam in 2003.

Not to mention, with Epic’s crossplay tech being shared and with their direct competitor to Steam shaking heads. Things seem to be shifting for the long run in the industry. While it’s easy to claim Fortnite and their wealthy parent may seem like a passing fad it’s making serious good changes for the gaming community.

Comment below on what you think of Sweeney’s net worth. Also, if you liked this article why not share it on social media. In other news, a bar in London will be celebrating the release of Resident Evil 2 with bloody cocktails.
