Everything We Learned From PlayStation State Of Play May 2019

The second PlayStation State Of Play has just concluded and showcase some of Sony’s latest and upcoming games within a 10 minute livestream.

First, The show started off with a trailer for the upcoming Monster Hunter World expansion, Iceborne. The trailer showcased the new location, a snow landscape full of brand new and familiar monsters including the popular Nargacuga.

The expansion is set to release of September 6th 2019.

Up next, A quick yet sweet trailer at a pixelated isometric dungeon crawler called Riverbond that even includes fan favorite characters like Shovel Knight.

Following after Riverbond is a unexpected Predator game called Predator: Hunting Grounds in collaboration with Fox Entertaiment. Which will act as a asymmetric action game based of the Predator franchise. The game is set to the launch somewhere in 2020 with no firm release date.

Next, Sony displayed a extended look at the MediEval remake developed by Other Ocean Interactive and was first revealed on Halloween of last year.

The extended trailer was about a minute long and displayed a closer look at the remake’s gameplay showcasing weapons, abilities and stages. The remake looks to stay true to the original 1998 game for fans while also feeling fresh and more sharper than ever, similar to the Crash Bandicoot or Spyro remakes.

The game is set to release in October 25th 2019.

Next is a gorgeous looking nature based game, where you play as a lemur looking creature in a survival game called Away: The Survival Series. You must survive a harsh and ruthless environment. You have animal like abilities such as gliding, pouncing and the ability to hide in small areas.

The event closed off with a surprising extended look at the Final Fantasy 7 Remake developed by Square Enix. The trailer showcases gameplay including the bomber mission that acts as the first mission in the game and the first look at the main antagonist, Sephiroth.

The trailer teased more to come in June 2019, most likely at E3 2019 at Square Enix’s showcase.
