Epic Games Keeping Fortnite Off Google Play Store

Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite Battle Royale will release on Android Phones but with a catch. It will not be available on the Google play store instead CEO of Epic Games has said they want to cut out the third man as they do not plan to deal with the 30 percent cut google would take.

“The 30 percent store tax is a high cost in a world where game developers’ 70 percent must cover all the cost of developing, operating, and supporting their games,” Sweeney has made it clear that no other company is going to profit that much off Epic Games if he has a say.

Sweeney says they have planned a special installer just for Android phones regarding Fortnite Battle Royale. “maintain its direct relationship with consumers.” straight from the mouth of the CEO of Epic Games. What Epic Games is doing is kinda unheard of but with the success of Fortnite and the continuing success, they have the willpower and money to pull this off without the help of the Google play store.

This could set a new trend in mobile gaming. If a game has a big enough fanbase it could do well without giving a percentage to a third man. You can say anything about Epic Games but what I do give them is they have the ability to see the future and they really hold Fortnite in High Regard.
