EA blames recent financial loss to single player modes

Revealed at a recent conference EA actually lost money in their last financial quarter. As a result their stock dropped by 13.3% and with a loss of 3.7 billion dollars.

EA feels this loss was due to a focus on single player modes in recent releases. Their newest title in the Madden series didn’t appeal to people as they hoped. But a big player in this mess was Battlefield V. First off, the release to that was all over the place. With a lack of features promised and little effort put into the battle royale mode Firestorm seem to have caused issues.

With a better focus on the battle royale mode they could have had a better shot to compete with the likes of Fortnite, PUBG, and Black Ops 4. Though it seems like it was doomed from the start. Now Apex Legends is out to success so EA might get back on track. Comment below on what you think of the recent financial loss for the company.
