A few days after blaming some of their recent financial loss on the performance of single-player games, EA has announced that it has a few games in the works for some of its longer-running series.
In addition to building up hype for the release of Anthem in just a few days, EA COO and CFO Blake Jorgensen mentioned additions to both the Need for Speed and Plants vs Zombies franchises in a press release. Although no release windows were given for either game, it’s expected they’ll drop sometime later this year or early in 2020.
We’re making adjustments to improve execution and we’re refocusing R&D. Looking forward, we’re delighted to launch Anthem, our new IP, to grow Apex Legends and related Titanfall experiences, to deliver new Plants vs. Zombies and Need for Speed titles, and to add Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to our sports titles in the fall.EA CFO/COO Blake Jorgensen

The Plants vs Zombies games, on the other hand, have generally always received positive reviews. Fans of the series will no doubt be excited over what a new entry may look like.
With all of that said, what are your thoughts on new NFS or PVZ games? Are you excited for Anthem, which comes out in just a couple of weeks? Let us know!
