Hellraid Set To Fill The Gap Until Dying Light 2

Although Dying Light 2 is on the way Techland is hard at work bringing new content to the original. The latest trailer for the new Hellraid pack shows what could have been for the supposedly cancelled game.

Techland announced Hellraid way back in 2013 as a standalone medieval fantasy hack ‘n’ slash based around European folklore and unfortunately, saw multiple delays. It’s never been officially cancelled but remains ‘on hold’. Within the universe of Dying Light, the new DLC comes in the form of an arcade that serves as a portal into the world of Hellraid.

“Use it and you’ll emerge in a grim fortress overrun by Hell’s minions.”

With the DLC so tonally different to the main game it remains as a self-contained world but, as players rise through the ranks and pick up trophies they’ll be able to bring medieval-style weapons back to Harran. Dying Light 2 is still waiting on an official release date so it’s nice to see the original still get support in the meantime. Hopefully, with enough support this could lead to Hellrain seeing a full release as it rightfully should.

Overall it looks stunning. The dilapidated corridors full of skeletal knights wielding fire and steel heavily reminds me of FromSoft’s King’s Field and I can’t wait to play it myself.

Dying Light: Hellraid releases on all platforms on July 23 and you’ll be able to pick it up for £7.99
