Doom Eternal is aiming for 30 FPS On Switch

After Doom Eternal was announced at Quakecon 2018, it didn’t take long for them to announce that it was also going to be on Switch.

However, they didn’t give much information as to how it would run and what they where targeting, all we got was a Tweet announcing it would be coming to the Switch. You can check the full article out here.

Luckily Eurogamer had the chance to sit down with the game’s executive producer Marty Stratton and the creative director Hugo Martin, to talk about the Switch Version of the game. This is what they had to say:

“We’re actually working with Panic Button again, but before, we made the game and then we brought it to Switch, and now we are making the game with Switch in mind. It’s nice to know the platforms we want to hit up front.”

Which is great news as we won’t just see it ported to the Switch, they are actually building the game with the Switch in mind.

They was also asked about the performance of the game and how it would run on the Switch given that it isn’t as powerful as other consoles. Stratton had this to say:

We don’t run at 60 on Switch. Doom 2016 didn’t run at 60 on Switch, it ran at 30, and really it was no sacrifice to the experience.
