Doom 64 was announced only for the Nintendo Switch and was releasing later this year, but sadly just like Doom Eternal, it’s been delayed until 20 March 2020.

Now it seems Doom 64 is coming to every platform next year, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and as a bonus, for everyone who pre-orders Doom Eternal gets Doom 64 for free.

Even though Doom, Doom II and Doom 3 have also appeared on the Switch fans might be wondering why Doom 64 is coming, as isn’t it just a port Doom?

Well it isn’t, Doom 64 is considered to be the sequel to Doom II, and whatever ‘plot’ there is takes place after the events of Doom II. There will be a lot of gamers that haven’t played this title because it released around the same time as Goldeneye, so it was vastly overshadowed, but at the time it was the best version of a Doom game you could play.

Now many people will have the chance to play it, but as it’s releasing on the same day as Doom Eternal, and as a pre-order bonus, it might once again be left to the shadows.

Hey, my name is Mark, I am 29, video game enthusiast! My earliest memory was playing Worms on the Amiga against my Godmother, yes the Amiga, massive box type thing, needed eighty-five thousand floppy disks to play one game, maybe a slight exaggeration, those were the days! I love RPG's, and The Legend of Zelda series. Dogs are pretty awesome.

Have your say!
