The countdown is on for The Game Awards. With all the potential to show off a game, many of the AAA games look at it as a chance to boast their progress. Unfortunately, that wont be the case for Cyberpunk 2077. The newest CD PROJEKT RED game will not be in attendance.
The event is this Thursday, December 6, and it will feature nearly a dozen new game announcements, according to Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards. You can check out the news below.
We have such an incredible show coming together for next week. More than 10 new games will be announced for the first time during #TheGameAwards plus updates on existing titles too. We will share some teases in the days to come…. pic.twitter.com/3w17tFIuTA

There have already been several rumors of major announcements including a new Avengers game and a new project from Obsidian. Not only are there new announcements at the ceremony, but it’s also a good chance for developers to showcase all their already-announced, in-progress games.
Cyberpunk 2077’s absence
Cyberpunk 2077 has gained a lot of steam since its announcement by CD PROJEKT RED. In the past, the team has worked on the acclaimed Witcher series, so this is a change of pace for them.
TGA would’ve been a big stage for CDPR to show off CP77 ( I hope you enjoyed all those abbreviations), but it won’t be attending.
The announcement was made official on Monday by Marcin Momot, who is a Community Lead for CP PROJEKT RED. Here’s the tweet straight from the horse’s mouth.
We're looking forward to seeing all the reveals and announcements during this year's @thegameawards, however we're not going to be showing anything there ourselves. We’ll share more details about @cyberpunkgame when we’re ready.

Major details, like a release date, about Cyberpunk 2077 are yet to be announced, but we’ll have to wait a little bit longer for that. There still is plenty to get excited about though, and while Cyberpunk 2077 will be absent, there is still plenty of content to enjoy.

In other words, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order possibly arrives in 2019.
