Your PC may run Crysis, but can it run Crysis Remastered?
Despite an official reveal is scheduled for tomorrow, a trailer for the upcoming Crysis Remastered has appeared online along with other details. A Microsoft store page for the game has emerged with more details regarding the Remaster.
Leaks appearing on the store are nothing new. Just earlier this month Star Wars Squadrons was leaked a few days before the official reveal and we also had a date for the Mafia Trilogy back in May. After many rumors and April-Fools confusion, the teaser trailer later got leaked as well, leaving a lot of speculation until the official announcement. If you want to watch the trailer ahead of the official announcement you can find it below.
Though the trailer is quite compressed all footage has been directly captured from PC, I’d expect it to look much clearer tomorrow. The trailer is at least clear enough to see the overhaul, while the game expects to be completely optimized for a new generation of hardware I doubt you’ll need an expensive bit of kit to run it like back in the day. That being said, Crytek and co-developer aim to include features, such as ray-tracing and temporal anti-aliasing, that will help the remaster stack up compared to other current-gen titles.
Crysis maybe 13 years old at this point but the trailer and screenshots look amazing, the only aspects that stick out, to me, would be the character models and some animations but that’s to be expected. It’s been 7 years since Crysis 3 and with the arrival of Remastered maybe we can hope for another installment? THEN we’ll have a reason to upgrade our PC’s in fear they might set alight.
Crysis Remastered is expected to release on July 23 for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. You can also find more info on the game from the leaked store page here.
