Cliff Bleszinski announces retirement
Cliff Bleszinski should be a household name for most gamers. He was one of the creative minds behind the still-going-strong Gears of War series and gained his clout during his time at Epic Games.
Bleszinski famously worked for Epic Games and left to start his own developing studio, Boss Key Productions in 2014. Boss Key Productions’ Lawbreakers was their first major project. Unfortunately, the company shut its doors earlier this year in May, and the game never came to any fruition.
Bleszinski has “retired” before and he came out of it to start Boss Key Productions four years ago, so that might be something. That doesn’t necessarily mean anything right now. It’s not completely unrealistic that this is only a hiatus, either.
Bleszinski doesn’t want to develop video games any longer, and he’s expressed as much. In a report from gamesindustry.biz via Game Informer, Bleszinski spoke on the matter. Bleszinski said “I’m done” in response to a Twitter question. That’s pretty clear-cut.
What are your thoughts on Bleszinki’s retirement? Did you like the games he worked on in the past? Let us know what you think in the comments.
