After Being Announced 7 years ago, Capcom Reignites Interest In Their Game ‘Deep Down’
Near the beginning of the eighth generation of consoles, Capcom announced their ps4 singleplayer and multiplayer dungeon crawler ‘Deep Down’; unfortunately for those excited about the project, barely any word of its production and release was touched upon since 2014 and many assumed the game was cancelled. However, at the dawn of the ninth generation of consoles, Capcom has renewed the trademark for the game, leading to rumors that it’s still being developed and will one day release.
So, what can we expect from this?
With the ps5 and Xbox Series X less than a year away (assuming they won’t get delayed), will ‘Deep Down’ release on the ps4, ps5, or both? If renewing its trademark actually means it’s still being worked on, then it’s most likely just heading to the ps5, or at least being optimized for the ps5. They would have most likely revealed a more recent trailer for the game if it was still coming to ps4, especially since the game’s last trailer released in 2014. The ps5 is also a lot more capable of displaying beautiful and realistic graphics, such as those seen in the ps5’s Unreal Engine 5 demo.
While the future of “Deep Down’ is uncertain, it’s nice to know that Capcom hasn’t forgotten about it.
