Call of Duty Warzone will introduce large map changes in August, Sources say.
Some changes will be to revamp the football stadium to have an indoor area and the addition of a loot-filled train which will circle the game map.
Also, with Warzone’s huge success, amassing over 60 million players, Activision finds it as a great platform to unveil the new series. The new Premium game being Black Ops: Cold War.
Warzone has already been teasing Cold War Elements such as the new bunkers recently implemented to be more than just a husk of a cave.
There are data mines of game files that show a remote-controlled explosive-car and a Spy Plane that resembles kill streaks from Black Ops.
In addition, Activision has stated that they don’t intend to slow down with releasing their premium Call of Duties, Warzone is already viewed as a major pillar in Activision line up. Instead of creating a new Battle Royale for every new addition to the franchise, they will instead update it like how Fortnite has been approaching it.
In an interview on French Publication GamerGen with Infinity Ward’s narrative director Taylor Kurosaki, he gave a large hint towards Warzone acknowledging other Call of Duty brands.
“Call of Duty is a genre in itself. There are different branches in the Call of Duty tree, but they’re all connected in some ways. He said.
He added: “Warzone will be the through-line that connects all of the different various sub-franchisees of Call of Duty. It’s going to be really cool to see how the different sub-franchisees sort of come in and out of focus, but Warzone will be the one constant.”
