Infinity Ward Trying To Combat Call Of Duty Warzone PC Cheaters With 2FA

Infinity Ward have been struggling to contain cheaters in Call Of Duty Warzone, we have published plenty of articles on this. With Infinity Ward trying to matchmake cheater together, cheaters in Warzone are such an issue that a lot of console players are turning of crossplay so they don’t get matchmade with PC cheaters.

Well now it seems Infinity Ward is taking another step forward in combating cheaters in Warzone by requiring free-to-play players on PC to authenticate their accounts using SMS. This news was announced on Tuesday. This has been put in place to presumably make it easier for Infinity Ward to track cheaters.

Now if you purchase Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and access Warzone that way, then you will not be required to enable 2FA. It is only required for those who download Warzone for free.

Back in April Activision claimed to of banned 70,000 players for cheating.

“We take all forms of cheating very seriously, maintaining a level and fair playing field for everyone is among our highest priorities,” the publisher said.

“We have been enforcing account bans since Day 1 of Warzone’s release.”

Only time will tell if this 2FA will help with combating cheaters in Call Of Duty Warzone.
